A discussion on pricing

Ahh...yes...How much? That's probably the most difficult question for those of us that perform a service based on an intangible such as talent.

There are many clichés I could use here like, "If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it.", but it's not my intent to offend anyone.

My goal is to provide you with something unique, that has personal value to you.

Quite frankly, I wish I didn't have to charge money for my work. I get much more of a reward when I give a piece of my work as a gift and it's truly appreciated than any amount of money can ever compensate. Unfortunately, the grocery store doesn't accept woodcarvings.

When I'm asked "Are your prices reasonable?", I really have to bite my tongue because if I didn't think my published rates were 'reasonable' based on my talent, experience and skill....I wouldn't publish them.

My 'Published Rates' are just that. They are set as general guideline price ranges for the work that I do. Everything is negotiable, within reason.

Prices are calculated by applying a dollar amount to the time I estimate a specified piece will require to complete. My time is all that I have to sell.

Today with most things being mass-produced, over-manufactured and carbon copied, hand craftsmanship has become a rare commodity. There is yet no machine that can replicate the subtle nuance of human touch.

If you're looking for bargain art, then this probably isn't the right site for you. If you're looking for something out-of-the-ordinary, exclusively personal and created with the highest quality I'm capable of...then you may have found it.

Terms:
For commissioned work, 50% in advance is required. Balance due upon completion and before shipment. Shipping charges are additional on all work.
